2. Do you believe only Christians will be saved?
Yes I do, and this is why! Again the answer is based on the Bible it is not just my opinion. I’m using the Bible because of the proofs we have about why we can believe God. (As in A1 – Romans 1 and the future)
The Bible, as God’s word, declares directly that only Christians will be saved. In case you have any doubts about this let me take you directly to three verses. I believe you will be amazed.
When the Christian faith was beginning to sweep the world this is what was said:
The apostle Peter said – in Acts 4:12. “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Pretty clear isn’t it?
The apostle Paul said – in Ephesians 2:11-13. “Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles ….. were .. separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” Again it is plain enough isn’t it?
And Peter and Paul were only following what Jesus had already said in John 14:6. “….. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”” The way, he said, there is no other!
Now is this message unfair, or hard, or unreasonable? Don’t forget that Christianity is, and has been, open to all. The message of Christianity in the Bible has been available in whole or part in over 2,000 languages, and has been preached in every country of the world. There are Christians in every country of the world to prove it.
If you think that maybe other religions have similar exclusive claims you should check it out, but I believe Christianity is alone in this matter. And even if there were other claims they would be empty in not having the backing or authority of anything greater than man. No proofs of supernatural origin or power as demonstrated by God with fulfilled prophecy.
Finally if this seems to you to be self satisfied or cruel, remember it is God who has spoken, not me. I can only call for anyone seeking life forever to find the Christian God, learn his rules, and turn to him in obedience.
Jesus not only said he was the way, but he invites all of us to join him on it in Matthew 11:28-30. “Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
So the invitation is there, it is free to all, and it is a call to follow the flag of Jesus Christ as Christians. No other army will be saved.
